I created these illustrations to show you that anxiety is not something that happens to you. In fact anxiety is something that is created in the cinema of your mind. The metaphor of getting out of the back seat and into the drivers seat of your mind is very useful. The young woman has now accepted the invitation to leave the back seat and enter the "Cinema of Her Mind" where she begins to discover how anxiety is actually created.

This is the most important illustration in the series because it reveals the actual mechanism of anxiety. The aim is to help you to understand:
"Oh wow... I'm doing this to myself without realizing it."
The illustration should make the process obvious:
Mental Movie → Internal Dialogue → Anxiety Feeling

This illustration is the turning point of the entire series.
Illustrations 1–3 showed how anxiety is created.
Illustration 4 shows the moment the young woman realizes:
"If I'm creating the movie, I can change the movie."
The aim is to give you a feeling of empowerment, curiosity, and hope.

This illustration teaches the crucial skill that confidence is not created by "thinking positive." Confidence is created by repeatedly directing the unconscious mind to produce a better movie until it generates a feeling of certainty and capability.
The message is:
"If you don't like the first movie your mind creates, make another one."
The aim of this illustration is to help you feel creative, empowering, and transformative.

This is the breakthrough illustration in the series.
Up until now the young woman has learned:
1. Anxiety is a process.
2. The process uses Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic systems.
3. She creates anxiety through movies and self-talk.
4. She can become the director.
5. She can rewrite the script.
Now she learns the most powerful technique:
Travel beyond the event into a successful future and look back.
This illustration should create a feeling of relief, certainty, wisdom and possibility.
The viewer should think:
"Of course. Once the event is successfully completed, the anxiety can no longer exist."

This is the final illustration in the series.
The previous illustration showed you how to step into the future and discover that the event was successfully completed.
This final illustration teaches the last step:
Bring the successful future memory back to the present moment.
The transformation is complete.
The young woman is no longer sitting in the back seat of her life.
She is now driving.
She understands how anxiety is created, how confidence is created, and how to direct the cinema of her mind.
This illustration should help you feel inspired, empowered, hopeful and conclusive.
