What prevents you from performing at peak?

The primary responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Department are to ensure that the delivered product or service meets the standards required by the organisation but what is it that actually prevents both management and employees from meeting the highest standards required from them? Taking it as a given that both management and employees are qualified to do the job then there are really only two things that prevent them from performing on peak: the first is physical health and the second is state of mind.

 

What is stress?

Stress is the body's way of responding to a stimulus. The stimulus does not always have to be 'bad' in fact people can become stressed from too much of a good thing. Stress can be caused by a threat to survival, real or imagined, or in just trying to keep the business afloat and pay the bills. In some cases stress can result in a post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Stress can be caused by environmental triggers such as cold and heat, sunlight, poor lighting, pollution, noise; by poor diet, drug use or lack of sleep. Stress can result from over work or challenging work situations and relationship conflicts. Life seems to offer an unending choice of stressors. The good thing is that we can change our response to at least some of the stressors by learning how to manage our thought processes.

As NLP works with the actual structure of the mind it reigns supreme in dealing with stress related issues. Negative emotions that are associated with past events can be released rapidly and gently such that when you check back to those memories afterwards you won't be able to find the negative emotions. In addition, using NLP techniques, you can learn how to change the tonality, volume and tempo of the internal dialogue from something that creates stress in the mind and body to a way of thinking that creates relaxation, confidence or whatever state you need at the time.

Hypnosis gives us a model for directly influencing the mind and body by asking questions or making suggestions that direct the unconscious mind to create the desired outcome.
