NLP
RAPPORT SKILLS WORKSHOP
Available
as an in-house workshop for groups, organisations and the business sector.
OBJECTIVES
Learn the skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain, deepen and
break rapport. Learn how to influence an individual or a group towards agreement.
WHAT
IS RAPPORT?
Rapport is the establishment of trust and harmony in a relationship.
It is the key element in the art of obtaining the support and co-operation of
other people. 93% of communication is transmitted by your body language and the
way that you speak (analogue communication). Only 7% of the message is carried
by the words (digital communication). Most of the time your analogue communication
is unconscious. By developing an ability to work at both the conscious and unconscious
levels of communication, you will learn how to establish deeper rapport and build
trust and harmony - with virtually anyone, in a much shorter time
frame.
APPLICATIONS
The ability to establish and break rapport is an essential life skill, especially
for professional communicators or those in business. Rapport is step #1 in every
form of communication. Without rapport other forms of coercion are required to
bring another person or group to agreement.
Most
of us are able to establish rapport with certain types of people but a master
communicator has the ability to establish rapport with a wider range of people.
Rapport
skills may be used by an individual or a group of negotiators to tilt the outcome
(manipulate) of a negotiation in their favour. As such, in order to defend yourself
against manipulation by unscrupulous people or organisations (or just more skillful
communicators than yourself), you need the ability to recognise how the rapport
is shifting between yourself and the other.
High
level rapport skills are an essential requirement for:
- Sales people.
- Marketers.
- Management.
