1. What did you achieve?

2. What did you set out to achieve but did not achieve?

3. What stopped you from achieving some of your goals?

4. What are the most important learning's that you can take from last year?

5. How can you apply those learning's to help make this year even better than the last?

What I do is look at the goals that I set for myself in the previous year. I compare the goals that I did not achieve with the goals that I did achieve, then to make things easy for myself - when I set my goals for the coming year I choose goals that are going to be most likely for me to achieve. So what I do is learn how to follow my natural energy - it just makes things so much easier and life is so much more satisfying.

I learned that partly from experience and partly from Roger Hamilton's Wealth Dynamic Profile.

 

What are your goals for this year?

  1. What do you want to do, to have, to get, and who do you want to be this year?
  2. What don't you want to do this year? That is, do you know what you do and what you don't do?
  3. What will the actualisation of your goals look like, sound like and feel like?
  4. Why do you want to achieve those goals?
  5. When and where do you want to get those goals?
  6. Are the goals reasonable?
  7. Do you know what to do - the steps and stages?
  8. Do you have the resources?
  9. Do you know who you can get to help you?
  10. Do you know what your limitations are? Do you know how to deal with whatever it is that has stopped from achieving success at the highest level in the past?
  11. Do you have what it takes? Are you willing to do what is absolutely necessary in order for you to achieve those goals?
  12. Are you ready to make a decision and commit to an action plan towards achieving those goals? Have you made that decision?
  13. This time next year - looking back on how you read this article and set the goals, worked towards those goals, and achieved those goals - how does it feel now to know that it was the best year ever?

 

Make each day the best day of your life.

What I do is set 25 year goals, 10 year goals, 5 year goals - and the goals for the coming year. Then I set goals for the month, for each week and for each day. I do this by writing lists and by running a cinema in my mind. I use a positive coaching internal dialogue to build the images in much the same way a film director would do so.

Then I set goals for Christmas/New Year - goals for end of financial year - and goals for my birthday.

So how would you like to celebrate your next birthday? Where do you want to celebrate? Who will be there and what will you be doing? When you share this birthday with your friends remember to invite them to set a goal for how they would like to celebrate their next birthday. And most importantly set a new goal for your next birthday such that when you look back on the year you say to yourself, "This has been the best year of my life!" __ © Author Abby Eagle
